Trout fishing in Torfaen

     Torfaen county  lies between Newport to the south and Blaenau Gwent to the north.The river Afon Llywd(known localy as Torfaen River)flows through the valley providing some excellent trout fishing for anglers in this part of South Wales.

     Llandegfedd Reservoir is the largest body of stillwater for trout fishing in Torfaen.Set in beautiful scenic surroundings, 2 miles east of Pontypool,fishing is available from the banks or from a boat.The reservoir also accommodates course fishing which is restricted to certain days.The reservoir has good stocks of rainbow and brown trout.Day and season permits are available from the office,call 01495 769281.

Pontypool Angling Assosiation own  thirteen miles of double bank fishing on  this river near Blaenavon and Croesyceilliog.
