This massive nine hundred and four acre course and trout fishing venue lies on the lonely and wild Bodmin Moor, 14 miles south of Launceston off the A30 road.It was completed and flooded in 1983 and supplies most of the drinking water for Cornwall, except for the north east of the county.The sheer size of Colliford Reservoir means that trout fishing in this part of Cornwall may involve a lot of walking, bring sturdy footwear as the tracks around the reservoir can be uneven and muddy.South WestWater the owners of these waters operate a fly fishing from the bank only policy.

Trout fishing on Colliford reservoir can be rewarding (if you find the right spot) and can prove good value as it currently only costs £8 for 4 fish on a day ticket, with concessions available for children and disabled anglers for both day and season tickets.The reservoir is stocked with brown trout to supplement the natural wild brown trout.Self service tickets are available in Simonstone carpark.telephone 01837 871565 for more information.The fishing season runs from March the first to mid October.Most fish weigh between 1 1/2 lb and 1 3/4lb and are hard fighting fish.Brown trout over 7lb are occasionally taken making this a fine venue to go trout fishing in Cornwall.
