Cefn Mably Lakes,near St.Mellons.Season and day tickets available.There are casting platforms and facilities for wheelchairs.A nice cafeteria and bar are on site.Cefn Mably has five lakes two for course fishing and three for trout fishing.This venue is located on the A48 between Newport and Cardiff which is just 5 mins off junction 48 of the M4 motorway.The three trout lakes are spring fed and offer easy fly fishing.Open all year.This venue is classed as the best in Wales and impressive it is,although personally i prefer my fishing a little less catered for(well you can’t please everybody).One six and a half acre lake is for fly fishing only,the others are any method.The fishery records are 27lb 9oz Rainbow trout and 10lb 2oz brown trout.Triploid trout are also stocked.Telephone 01633 681101 |

Duffryn Springs,Duffryn,Cardiff, located five minutes off junction 33 off the M4. Waylock is a fly fishing only water of around three acres stocked with triploid rainbow trout from 2.5 to 20lbs.Goldsland is the largest of the trout lakes at around four acres and is stocked with rainbows,browns and tigers from 1.5lb to around 16lb.Thaw is a one acre any method lake stocked with raibow trout of around 1.5lb.Day tickets are available.
