Cochybondhu Fly-Trout Flies-Dry Flies |
||||
|
The Coch- y- bondhu fly is a famous Welsh pattern which represents a beetle found in Wales and most of the UK. This fly is a must for any angler going after the more cautious native brown trout in particular, although all other trout species will take it too. When you see trout gently taking insects from the surface pop on a cochybondhu fly and see what happens. I have had more success with this fly than any other dry fly pattern. This is a great all rounder that should be considered by every fly angler. The word Coch translated from the native welsh means “red”, Y means “and” bondhu “black trunk” hence Cochybondhu literally means red and black trunk. |
